Hi, I’m Tom — welcome to Digital Warrior Academy.
I built this place to teach live visuals the way I actually learned them: in the field, under real pressure, on real shows — not from a script. Clubs, festivals, corporate stages, architectural installs. The stuff that works when the lights go down and a few thousand people are waiting.
The Codec is where I share the things that don’t fit neatly into a course — quick tips, hard-won lessons, tool breakdowns, and the occasional rant about codecs (you’ll see). My hope is simple: that you stick around, dig in, and have some fun with it. This is meant to be a playground as much as a classroom.
One house rule, and it’s the thing I care about most: we test everything on the real wall. If a technique doesn’t survive the stage, it doesn’t make it onto this blog. No theory for theory’s sake.
Got a question, a war story from your own shows, or want to train with me directly? Get in touch — I read every message. See you in the next one.
— Tom
