Media Server Training

Build a workflow you can trust under show pressure

This is not a generic tour of buttons. The session is built around the job you need to do: preparing a project, programming a timeline, routing outputs, integrating control, diagnosing signal problems or handing a system over to another operator. Before the training, Tom reviews your goal, current level, software access and technical setup. That makes it possible to focus on the shortest useful path instead of covering features you will not use.

The platform is selected for your work. Training can focus on one application or compare the concepts shared by Disguise, Pixera, LightAct and Resolume. The emphasis stays on transferable thinking: how media-server projects are structured, how content moves through the system, where failures usually appear and how to communicate a reliable setup to the wider production team.

• Project structure, media management, timelines and version-safe working habits.
• Outputs, canvases, mapping, colour and the signal path from content to display.
• Networking, timecode, control protocols and integration with the rest of the show system.
• Previsualisation and preparation when the final hardware is not available.
• Troubleshooting methods for content, playback, sync, routing and operator errors.
• Documentation, backups, handover and communication between programmers, operators and engineers.

How the online session works

Training is currently delivered live and remotely. We use screen sharing, guided exercises and review of your own project or a prepared practice file. Editor, offline and previsualisation modes are used where available. Hardware-specific exercises are included only when you have access to the required system; access requirements are confirmed before booking. I will not promise a hardware workflow that cannot be reproduced safely online.

Private training is available now. Small live cohorts may be announced when there is enough demand, and self-paced courses are planned for the future. Any date, duration, recording access, price, cancellation terms and certificate arrangements are confirmed in writing before payment.
