Information collected

When you contact me, arrange training or subscribe to field notes, I may collect your name, email address, organisation, training interests, project details, booking information, newsletter consent and messages. The website and hosting provider may also process technical information such as an IP address, browser type, requested pages, timestamps and security logs. Please do not send sensitive personal information through the enquiry form.

Why it is used

I use personal data to answer enquiries, recommend and deliver training, manage bookings and payments, maintain business records, protect the website and meet legal obligations. Newsletter addresses are used for marketing emails, training reminders, course updates and practical field notes. The legal basis for those marketing emails is your consent, which you may withdraw at any time. Other legal bases are taking steps at your request before a contract, performing a contract, legitimate interests in running and securing the service, and compliance with legal obligations.

Service providers and external links

Data may be processed by providers used for website hosting, email, booking, video calls, payments or accounting. The Calendly booking calendar opens only after you click its external link; Calendly then applies its own privacy and cookie terms. If a future cohort uses Eventbrite, its link will also take you to Eventbrite’s service and policies. A mailing provider will be added before marketing mailings begin; its identity, role and international transfer details will be listed in this notice. Providers may process data outside the UK; where required, appropriate transfer safeguards are used.

Cookies

The public website is intended to use only cookies or local storage needed for core functionality and administration. No embedded Calendly widget is loaded automatically. If optional analytics, marketing or embedded services are introduced later, this notice and the consent controls must be updated before those technologies are enabled.

Retention and your rights

Enquiries are kept only as long as needed to respond, follow up and maintain appropriate business records. Newsletter details are kept for one year from signup, or until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent, whichever comes first. Booking, payment and tax records may be kept for the period required by law. You may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, or object to certain processing. The right to object to direct marketing is absolute. You may also withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis. To unsubscribe or exercise a right, email the address above. You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

This notice may change when the website, training services or providers change, including when a mailing provider is connected. The current version and update date will be published on this page.
